CRIT is a four-move structure (Context, Role, Interview, Task) that makes value repeatable. Most leaders who try AI get an experience that feels useful but vague: a few good answers, a few wrong ones, and no repeatable way to know which is which. The CRIT framework is a four-move structure that flips that. ## Context Start by telling the AI about your world. Who are you. What does your business do. What are the constraints you're operating under. The model can't reason well about your situation if it doesn't understand it. ## Role Tell the AI what role to play. A skeptical board member. A pricing strategist. A first-time customer. The role you choose changes the lens, and the lens changes the answer. ## Interview This is the move most people skip. Ask the AI to interview *you*: to ask the questions it needs answered before it can give you a useful response. The best prompts get written collaboratively, not in advance. ## Task Only now do you state the task. By this point the AI has the context, the role, and the clarifying answers it needed, and the output is usually an order of magnitude better than a cold prompt would produce. Run the loop. Build the muscle. --- ## AI Is a Strategic Tool, Not a Tech Experiment Source: https://aileadership.com/posts/strategic-tool-not-tech-experiment/ Published: 2026-05-13 Tags: strategy, c-suite, leadership The pattern is everywhere: AI centers of excellence, pilots, reports, yet the needle rarely moves. The problem is rarely technology; it's ownership. The pattern is everywhere. A company stands up an AI center of excellence, runs pilots, generates reports, and a year later asks why the needle hasn't moved. The problem is rarely the technology. The problem is ownership. When AI is treated as a tech project, it gets evaluated on technical metrics (accuracy, latency, uptime) and judged in isolation from the decisions it was supposed to improve. When it's treated as a strategic instrument, it gets judged on the only metric that matters: whether leaders are making faster, sharper decisions because of it. The shift isn't a reorg. It's a stance. The CEO and the executive team own the AI agenda the way they own the strategy. Functions support it. IT enables it. But ownership sits at the top, because that's where the decisions worth augmenting actually live. --- ## Speed to Alignment: Hours, Not Quarters Source: https://aileadership.com/posts/speed-to-alignment/ Published: 2026-05-06 Tags: alignment, strategy, execution Strategic plans fail when teams aren't genuinely aligned. Speed to Alignment uses AI for synthesis so humans can disagree, decide, and commit. Most strategic plans don't fail because the strategy was wrong. They fail because the team was never genuinely aligned on it. Alignment is usually treated as an output of a long planning cycle: offsites, slide decks, iteration. The result is a document that everyone nods at and nobody actually executes against. A Speed to Alignment session inverts the order. AI does the heavy lifting on synthesis, scenario modeling, and pressure-testing, so the team's time is spent on the part only humans can do: disagreeing well, deciding, and committing. The output isn't a deck. It's a small number of decisions the leadership team is actually aligned on, captured in a way that survives contact with the next quarter. --- # Podcast episodes ## #2 · Collapsing Decisions from Hours to Minutes Source: https://aileadership.com/podcast/decisions-in-minutes/ Published: 2026-05-21 Guests: Geoff Woods Patterns that turn AI from a productivity gimmick into a strategic tool, and the leadership habits that make those patterns stick.
